Fenderflares

Hello
Im new here one this forum, im from norway and im very inspired of you guys in iceland.
Now im building a toyota hilux 93 mod with 37"x15.5x15 wheels, body lift etc.
So, can you people tell med how i can get "brettakantar?" fenderflares in the iceland ways? some internett site or some people that build flares to D-cab?

Hei Victor og velkommen på vort islanske forum. Finnes det ikkje breddrer for hilux i norge? Har sitt ein del patrolar med islanske breddere. der :)

Tenkte om jeg fant noen store hjul dær så kunne jeg få sendt det i sammen, tenkte på 44" dekk og noen store skjermbreddere. har 37" nå men det er for lite.
var i kontakt med AT i norge og han skulle skjekke ang bredderne, men vet dere hva det koster på island?

du kan altso bygge dine egen bredder fra "trefjaplast" jeg tror.
alle skriver på norsk, jeg pröver ad være med :) måske mere dansk eller forvirring.
you can also make your own fenderflares with fiberglass I think. Når jeg was thinking of getting fenderflares new for my hilux it was about 30.000-50.000isk each. omkring 1500 til 2500 Nkr hver.

di koster 80 tusen islandske,omtrent 4 tusen norske, men du burde dra bakakslingen 16+cm bakover og kjöpe da extra cab breddere de koster litt styr men bare ved og se på bilen för og etter så blir det verdt det.

hos brettakantar.is. og hálf pirrandi bara að sjá þessa norskugleði bara,það er varla hægt að fá þessi litli frekjurassgöt hérna í noregi til að æla upp stöku orði í ensku þótt þeir kunni hana fullvel;)

Það er mikil hjálp í þessum þræði... afhverju skrifið þið ekki á ensku? Þá eru eitthverjar líkur að þessar upplýsingar hjálpi eitthverjum í frammtíðini.

They cost about 80 thousand isl kr or about 4000 thousand norwegian kr(the whole set with brettakantar.is) ,but i recommend you pull the back axles 16+cm back so you can use the fenderflares from a extra cab hilux. its more work but just the change of looks will make it worth it.(my opinion)

Ég skrifaði manninum nú bara á skóla dönsku. Það ætti hver sem er að skilja hana sem og skrifaða norsku.

Should i answer on norwegian or english?
Artig att så mange av dere kan norsk/dansk! islandsk er vell gammel norsk,eller motsatt?
posible to find used flares over there? no problem for me to fix flares that are broken :D
You guys are awsome to bulid cars!, but its verry hard to get it leagely with so big tires and the law for rebuild cars are stupid here :(
how its the law there? can every cars get so big tires they want and body lift etc with out problems?

The maximum body lift is 100mm and the maximum suspension lift is 100mm (article 22 Regulation 308 from 2003),might have changed.
The tires need to be approved and all welds to the steering mechanism must be done by a professional welder (if not you must have them X-rayed) and then you must pass regular inspection of course.
oh and maximum width is 250cm (or 255 with some exceptions).
Correct me if I´m wrong

that will say its easier there.... so you can use bodylift without tuv?
i can only use spring/bodylift with tuv,i think bodylift has no tuv so bodylift its bad bad in goverments eyes
and toyota norway have to say that my car can use tires that are bigger then orginal etc etc... so if i put 44" on my car and police sees it they will flip over :p
its very hard to build leagal cars here

they cost 2000,- nkr each here if i dont remember wrong :(
so i just move flares longer back then, when i cut up to wider wheel house? or do i need to build/move somthing more in the wheel house?
så jeg flytter bare skjermbredderne lenger bak samtidig? eller må jeg støpe noe ekstra på kassen?

middle axle?your gonna have to get the drive shaft lengthened and balanced,brake pipes lenghtened and the handbrake wire. You can just move the original suspension or a very common recipe here is building new suspension using 4-link with springs or airbags. Every other older hilux and 4runner here wich came with IFS in the front has been changed and are running stiff axles,most commonly taken from a older hiluxes or the double cab diesel version and landcruiser 70 series.

i ment drive shaft, wasnt remember the word :p but im gonna do that on my car this winter, and im gonna make stif axel in front if i get that thru authorities, have to search norwegian car authorities about everything. and i have stiff axel here outside waiting to get up on mye car :)
and i dont think we can get 4-link aproved att authorities over here, and the same with airbags..
remember one car that come from island with airbags, that gay have to remove airbags from his car to get i thru..
everything we want to do with our cars must have tuv approval, that means if i want higher suspension it needs tuv approval on the springs feks.
but they see thing thru their fingers if i want 31" tires or somthing that isn bigger rebuilding.

Heisann! Siste gang jeg skjekked da var det ulovlig med så store dekk i Norge :S ... har dere forandret loven eller?

Veldig vanskelig å få godkjent hvertfall desverre, AT bilene som kommer fra island som er godkjent dær blir godkjent i norge, men vi andre som bygger biler hjemme har veldig vanskelig med å få godkjent dekk som er større enn 33".
før var det lettere og få godkjent 35-37" men biltilsynet er blitt strengere med tiden :(

As mentioned before, in Iceland, you can use 100mm suspension lift og 100mm body lift, but if you totally rebuild the suspension the authorities can't say the suspension has been lifted. (I imagine that's how the 54" trucks got through tuv)
The car has to be tuv'd after conversion, and after each change you make to the suspension if you decide to change something. But if you stay inside the legal parameters they basically can't stop you from doing anything you want

so you can go local and get tuv approvment? if i want tuv on my car i have to go to germany :o
its no problem for mee to build 4-link and stiff axle here and go to tuv in germany, but it cost around 100.000,- nkr
norway is a stupid contry to build cars and get it legaly, its problem and hard way all the time with authorities and they get mad every time they have to work, and if they dont like what you are doing or if you can wery mutch about cars they get mad and you dont get it thru.
are the authorities there like here? seems to bee easier to build cars and get it leagal there
