but I wonder why could this tyre not be used on a Toyota for example?? it looks brutal!

I think it is to hard rubber because this is meant to carry some heawy load, to many plyers in sides maybee ?? Dont think it is ideal sorry

This tire probably has a very big load rating, and therefore many ply's in the sidewall. I also very much doubt it has the necessary speed rating.

It's also very wide compared to height which adds to rolling friction in the snow and makes them illegal to use under vehicles in Iceland

The width will make it harder to go forward in snow (more friction/resistance)

very interesting.. wonder why that would be not more than 1/3 of its height.. so could you name some tyres that are like Maximum you could run there?

Remarkable. And I have driven my dakota for many years on tires 265/75x16 without complaints from the authorities and undergone many inspections. On these illegal tires the heigth is 75% of the width but maximum alloved width, according to this reputable source, would be 66 mm. And now all low profile tires must be confiscated of course.
Or maybe not?

16.203 Breytt bifreið.

(1) Heimilt er að hafa það stóra hjólbarða að þvermál þeirra nái allt að 44% af hjólhafi. Stærri hjólbarðar en viðurkenndir eru við almenna skráningu skulu því aðeins heimilaðir að unnt sé að aka bifreiðinni á öruggan hátt, sbr. 5. gr., hemlar nái að stöðva bifreiðina á virkan hátt, sbr. 6. gr., og fylgt sé reglum um skermun hjóla, sbr. 17. gr.

(2) Breidd sóla á hjólbarða skal ekki vera meiri en 1/3 miðað við þvermál hans.

Jamm. Hér hefur slegið saman tveimur hugtökum: Hæð (height) og þvermáli (diameter). Það ber oft að vara sig við þýðingar.

Mér þótti auðskilið með stóru dekkin að t.d. 38" væri hæðin á dekkinu, þessi grein á bara við breyttar bifreiðar
